This place is located in a hidden alley in the city center, above a pub with really nice food. The staff who worked pretty hard to ensure that this venue meets their guests' standards provided great customer service. The amenities in my room were fantastic, including heating, tea and coffee facilities, and a dining table. There was also a shared kitchen that had everything I needed. Moreover, I really enjoyed the leisure area with a TV and games, as well as the luggage storage and locker room, which were very convenient.
I would recommend this hotel to all!

Climbing the tenement-like stairs to Haggis Hostel was amusing. Encouraged by the wall painting (you'll understand when you see it!) I made it to the single floor hostel and was warmly welcomed. This was a fine friendly place with great thoughtful staff, a spotlessly clean suite of washing facilities, a comfy bunk and even a free breakfast. all for twenty quid! Well, I booked a second night, and came back to Sussex on the train with a First Class upgrade on the money I'd saved! Edinburgh Waverley station is 100yds away across Princes Street. What I never get in a hotel of course is the unpretentious friendly chattering of travellers 35 years younger than me making each other coffee or sharing an affordable bottle of wine in the kitchen before bedtime. Great stuff.
For £20? No complaints!

It was really a very nice hostel. Extremely friendly staff, only young people. And everything was clean. If I ever come to Edinburgh again, I will definitely stay here again. And the location (right opposite the train station) is superb!
The room for 4 is small.Tiny.

I had a fantastic stay at Haystack! I was in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival and wanted a hostel that offered privacy and comfort. The bed setup, like a small "capsule room," provided just that. The lockers were spacious enough to fit my luggage, even when disassembled. The kitchen was well-equipped and perfect for breakfast. The location was great, and the shower cabins were spacious. The staff, especially Benjamin and Helen, were incredibly friendly. I highly recommend staying here!
100% Recommend this hostel.

location is very close to the train station. breakfast contain fresh fruit.
well there are 55 steps to climb up the floor not suitble for people with heavy luggage. need to do beddings urself. need to pay for internet and storage of the luggage. 10 person dorm is too small for 10 person, it is the smallest 10 person dorm i have ever booked. add up all the money i spent i could book a B&B instead.

I had a great time staying at a hostel in the heart of the city. The location was perfect for exploring all the attractions on foot. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, even with three levels, and I had my own private space with a curtain. The staff was friendly and helpful, making my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this place!
